About the Conference
The first regional scientific meeting dedicated to brain health in Latin America.
The Latin American Brain Health Conference I is an international scientific meeting dedicated to advancing research on brain health and neurodegenerative diseases across Latin America.
The conference will highlight emerging discoveries from the HABS (Health & Aging Brain Study) and ReDLat (Multi-Partner Consortium to Expand Dementia Research in Latin America) cohorts — two large-scale collaborative initiatives aimed at transforming the understanding of dementia and related disorders in diverse populations.
By integrating approaches from genetics, neuroimaging, biomarker discovery, cognitive neuroscience, epidemiology, and clinical research, these initiatives are generating critical insights into the biological, clinical, and social determinants of brain health. Bringing together leading investigators, clinicians, and early-career researchers, the conference will provide a platform to strengthen regional scientific networks, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and accelerate the translation of research advances into strategies for prevention, early detection, and improved care for neurodegenerative diseases.
ReDLat Cohort
The Multi-Partner Consortium to Expand Dementia Research in Latin America. A large-scale international collaboration focused on understanding the genetic, clinical, and social factors driving dementia in Latin American populations, with emphasis on underrepresented communities.
